THE UNIVERSITY OF GHANA SETS THE MONTH OF MARCH AS THE CONGREGATION DATE FOR THE 2021/2022 ACADEMIC YEAR

The Public Affairs Directorate of the University of Ghana on Thursday, January 26th, 2023, released the graduation/congregation date for the 2021/2022 Academic Year. 

Part of the circular reads,

"The University community is hereby informed that Congregation ceremonies will be held for students who completed their programmes of study during the 2021/2022 academic year in all Colleges and the School of Graduate Studies.

It must be noted that the initial date for the congregation was January 10th, 2023 but circumstances beyond control of the University led to the rescheduling of the date after the updated 2022/2023 Academic Calendar was released

The circular further gives the modalities of the subject of thought

"The ceremonies will be in-person from Tuesday, March 21 to Saturday, March 25, 2023, at various locations on the University of Ghana campus". 

 The circular also states that, ''further details on the ceremonies will be provided in due course".

Since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic that led to the closure of all tertiary schools across the country in March 2020, the University has had its congregation virtually/Online. Three years down the lane, University of Ghana is going back to its normal face-face-face congregation. 

This will be an exciting event because, potential valedictorians will be privileged to speak on behalf of graduates at the Great Hall and in the presence of everyone. What a glory it will be for such persons. First class students will have the chance to shake hands with the members of the convocation whiles graduates will meet their colleagues and lecturers once again and say a final goodbye to themselves. Parents will witness their wards graduation in-person and will be proud for such an honor and achievement. the event will unfold like never before
