Without a doubt, the University of Ghana Parliament House (UGPH) is a miniature of the Parliament of Ghana. Whatever these young student leaders do during their sittings reflects the proceedings of the Ghanas' Parliament. Though they have their own Constitution, the content of the constitution is rightly in line with the 1992 Constitution of Ghana. The motto of UGPH is "Democracy from below"
On the 4th day of March 2023, the UGPH had its last sitting of the 18th Parliament of the second session to elect new leaders in order to usher them into the 19th Parliament. Some former UGPH members who have gone on to become prominent politicians in Ghana include Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Alban Bagbin - Former UGSRC President and current Speaker of the Ghanaian Parliament. Kwabena Duffour Jr, Hon. Adwoa Sarfo, Hon. Mahama AyarigaMajority Caucus
Minority Caucus
It is worth noting that while these individuals were involved in the UGSRC during their time at the University of Ghana, their political achievements are not solely attributable to their UGSRC membership or activities.

This year's election saw two people contesting for the respected position. They were in the persons of, Hon Rashid Seidu (Minority Caucus), and Hon Comfort Okyere (Majority Caucus). At the end of polls, Mr Rashid Seidu was declared the winner by the Electoral Commissioner in the 2023 UGPH Election with 78 votes of valid votes cast as against Ms Comfort Otchere's 50 votes
In his acceptance, the newly elected Speaker, Rt. Hon Rashid Seidu stated "I am grateful for the confidence reposed in me to serve as the Speaker for the 19th House of the University of Ghana Parliament House. I accept this wholeheartedly and therefore will call on all rank and file of members in the House to make us put aside our electioneering differences, and let us make unity in service our hallmark to achieve the unachievable"

Before the election could take place, the outgone Speaker, Rt. Hon Eugene Esah-Gyimah gave a report of what transpired during his tenure as the leader of the house. "It is sad that today becomes the last time I am presiding over this august house. We inherited a house which needed growth. Our work cannot be seen physically because we needed to put things in order. Talk of uniting our members and restructuring to chalk the success we all wish to attain. During our tenure, we established formal working parliamentary standards that will be of great benefit to the 19th house. The 17th Parliament was divided, but I have been able to unify the 18th Parliament. We urge the 19th house to continue the restructuring to enhance the growth of the university of Ghana Parliament House. Long live UGPH !!! Long live Ghana Student Parliament !!!
Ms Nelly Akweley Abbey, the Assistant Director of the student's parliament in the Parliament of Ghana visited UGPH to witness the UGPH proceedings.
