HON. LYDIA SEYRAM ALHASSAN BRINGS EASTER CHEER TO 1,000 UG STUDENTS: A DAY OF CELRBRATION AND BONDING AT LIZALEX GROUNDS

Story by: Samuel K. Owusu

On Sunday, April 9, 2023, the students of the University of Ghana had a rare opportunity to bond with Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, as they celebrated Easter at the Lizalex Grounds.

The MP graciously hosted approximately 1,000 students for a feast of food and drinks, providing them with a chance to relax and enjoy the Easter festivities

As the students gathered on the Lizalex Grounds, they were filled with excitement, joy and happiness and anticipation for the day ahead

The MP welcomed the students and thanked them for coming. She expressed her desire to foster closer relationships with the students, to understand their needs, and to support them in any way she could

The event was a huge success, with the students enjoying the food, drinks, and music that were on offer. They took the opportunity to mingle with each other and with the MP, sharing stories and experiences from their time at the university.

The event provided the perfect opportunity for the students to unwind and take a break from their studies, something that is much needed during the demanding academic year

It is not surprising that Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan has consistently come to the University of Ghana regularly since she was voted into power, speaks volumes about her commitment to the youth. This is not just a one-time political stunt, but a clear indication of her desire to foster a healthy relationship with the youth and support their dreams and aspirations

She is known for her commitment to serving her constituents and has always been passionate about the education of young people. Her regular visits to the university have been a great source of inspiration and motivation for the students, who see her as a role model and a champion of their cause

The significance of such a gesture cannot be overemphasized, particularly in a country like Ghana, where the youth face numerous challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated these challenges, making life even more difficult for young people. Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan's gesture is, therefore, a welcome relief and a ray of hope for many of these students

As we reflect on the events of April 9, 2023, we cannot help but praise and thank Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan for her unwavering dedication to the education and well-being of young people. Her generosity and kindness in hosting the students of the University of Ghana for the Easter festivities is a testament to her character and her commitment to serving her constituents.

In conclusion, the event at Lizalex Grounds on April 9, 2023, will be remembered as a day of celebration and joy for the students of the University of Ghana. It was a rare opportunity for them to bond with Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan, their Member of Parliament, and to celebrate the Easter festivities together. We thank the MP for bringing happiness to the students and for her consistent support of their education
