H.E. NANA ADDO DANKWA AKUFO-ADDO UNVEILED THE GARDEN OF FAME MONUMENT AT THE UG ALUMNI CENTRE

On the 7th day of April 2023, the University of Ghana's Alumni Centre witnessed a historic event as the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo unveiled the Garden of Fame monument to honour and recognise the contributions made by alumni. This event was a testament to the University's commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and recognising the efforts of its alumni in making an impact in various fields
The construction of the Garden of Fame monument by the Alumni Council, under the leadership of Ms Doris Kisiwa Ansah, was a significant investment in the University's development, and President Akufo-Addo lauded their vision and efforts. The event was also graced by the presence of the Chancellor of the University, Mrs Mary Chinery-Hesse, the Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Ayawaso West Wuogon Member of Parliament, Hon Lydia Seyram Alhassan, and several alumni of the University
In her brief remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, re-echoed her vision for the University, emphasising the urgent need to adopt technology to improve teaching and learning, anchored on humanism. This vision is an affirmation of the University's commitment to embracing innovation and fostering a learning environment that prepares students for the challenges of the future
