The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has recently announced the Opening of Admissions for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. 

KNUST is one of the most renowned universities in Ghana and West Africa. It is located in Kumasi, the capital city of the Ashanti Region of Ghana. KNUST is a public university that was established in 1952 as the Kumasi College of Technology. It was upgraded to a full-fledged university in 1961 and was renamed the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

KNUST is known for its high-quality academic programs and research activities in science and technology, humanities, social sciences, and business. The university has a diverse student population, including students from Ghana and other African countries, as well as international students from Europe, America, and Asia.

The university has over 200 undergraduate and graduate programs across its 6 colleges: College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, College of Art and Built Environment, College of Health Sciences, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Engineering, and College of Science.

KNUST undergraduate admissions for the 2023/2024 academic year have opened, and prospective students can now apply to join the university. The application process is entirely online and involves filling out an application form, submitting academic transcripts, and paying an application fee.

To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the university's minimum entry requirements. These include having at least 6 credits (A1-C6) in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or its equivalent. Applicants must also have passes in core subjects such as English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science.

In addition to meeting the minimum entry requirements, applicants must also meet the specific requirements for the program they are applying for. For example, students applying to study medicine must have a grade point average of at least 3.0 in their science subjects.

Applicants can apply for up to three programs of their choice. They will be considered for admission based on their academic qualifications, performance in any entrance exams, and available spaces in their chosen programs.

KNUST has a competitive admission process, with thousands of applicants vying for limited spaces in its programs. Therefore, it is essential for prospective students to start the application process early and submit all required documents before the deadline.
