Celebrating Excellence: Vice-Chancellor Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo To Honour Academic Prizes For The 2021/2022 Academic Year

I am pleased to announce that the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, will be awarding and honouring academic prizes to winners for the 2021/2022 academic year.

This is a great achievement for the students who have worked tirelessly to excel academically and for the University, which has provided an enabling environment for them to achieve their goals.
The ceremonies for the awarding of prizes have been scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 4 and Friday, May 5, 2023, at 5:00 pm in the illustrious Great Hall of the University of Ghana. This prestigious event to recognize and honour exceptional academic achievements promises to be a momentous occasion for both the University and its remarkable students.

- Humanities: Thursday, May 4, 2023
- Sciences: Friday, May 5, 2023
- Time: 5:00 p.m. each day
- Venue: Great Hall, University of Ghana
These ceremonies will be a celebration of academic excellence and a recognition of the hard work put in by the students to achieve their goals. During her induction ceremony on October 26, 2021, as the first female Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo shared her vision to "create a culture that promotes research, teaching and learning, administrative processes and extension activities driven by technology and anchored in humanism".
As part of efforts to realise her vision of enhancing stakeholder experience through digitalisation, the Vice-Chancellor identified some projects which are expected to culminate in enhancing the experience of students and other stakeholders such as faculty and staff, through the following three-pronged technology-driven initiatives:
- Classroom Modernisation
- One Student One Laptop (1S1L)
- Hot-spot Comfort Zones
One Student One Laptop (1S1L) and Classroom Modernisation promised by the Vice-Chancellor have been fulfilled. 120 laptops were given to the first batch of students on 25th August 2022 at the Cedi Conference Centre, Legon, whiles preparation is underway to distribute laptops to the second batch of students in the Second-Semester, of 2023. Under classroom modernisation, classrooms such as the K.A Busia Lecture Theatre and Larway Oracca Tetteh (LOT) building, and some classrooms in the Korle-Bu and City Campus have been refurbished and commissioned. The construction of the Hot-spot Comfort Zones is underway
