Transport fares in Ghana have been reduced by 10% starting from today, Wednesday, May 17, 2023. This welcome news comes as a result of a projected drop in fuel prices, and the decision was announced jointly by Emmanuel Ohene Yeboah, General Secretary of Ghana Road Transport Coordination Council, and Godfred Abulbire, General Secretary of Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU)


The reduction in fares applies to various modes of transportation, including shared taxis, intra-city buses (commonly known as tro-tros), intercity buses, and haulage vehicles.
