NPP Opens Nomination For Presidential Primary Elections: A Journey Towards Democracy

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially announced the opening of nominations for the highly anticipated Presidential Primary Election. Mr Justin Kodua Frimpong, the General Secretary of the Party, made this announcement through a letter dated May 25, 2023, revealing the key details of the upcoming electioneering process. 

Aspiring Presidential Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable nomination fee of Fifty Thousand Ghanaian Cedis (GH¢50,000.00)

The opening of nominations is set for tomorrow, Friday, May 26, 2023, while the closing of nominations is scheduled for Saturday, June 24, 2023. Additionally, the Special Electoral College Elections, if necessary, will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, with the National Congress taking place on Saturday, November 4, 2023. The NPP Presidential Primary Election promises to be an exciting event with several prominent figures potentially vying for the nomination. Among the potential candidates are Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng, former Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Mr Akoto Afriyie Osei, former Minister of Agriculture, Mr Joe Ghartey, and Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, among others. The presence of such distinguished individuals demonstrates the strength and diversity within the NPP and highlights the wealth of talent the party possesses
