THE UNIVERSITY OF GHANA SETS THE MONTH OF MARCH AS THE CONGREGATION DATE FOR THE 2021/2022 ACADEMIC YEAR

Owusu The Public Affairs Directorate of the University of Ghana on Thursday, January 26th, 2023, released the graduation/congregation date for the 2021/2022 Academic Year.  Part of the circular reads, "The University community is hereby informed that Congregation ceremonies will be held for students who completed their programmes of study during the 2021/2022 academic year in all Colleges and the School of Graduate Studies. UNIVERSITY OF GHANA SUFFERED POWER CUT: GENERATORS MALFUNCTIONS

It is therefore not in dispute that, education plays a crucial role in the development of a country. University of Ghana, Legon has over the years been ranked as the best University in Ghana and even beyond. These academic achievements have not been attained on a silver platter. Different factors come together to make these achievements possible of which the availability of electricity is one. Students in Ghana and across the globe recently journeyed to their various campuses with joy after a long vacation. It was time to meet old friends and make new ones. On Monday, the 23rd day of January 2023, the University of Ghana community suffered a power cut from 3:00 pm to 9:35 pm. The power was not restored back after the blackout until 9:35 pm. FIRST DAY LECTURE HALL EXPERIENCE IN LEGON Source: Samuel K. Owusu  It was about 7:30AM on Monday, the 16th day of January, 2023 and the  University of Ghana level 100 students were already on their way to have an academic engagement with their Lecturers and their and to meet their colleagues for the first time. The atmosphere at the  University Of Ghana, Legon campus came back to live like that of Kejetia and Makola market after some months of vacation. This is the usual euphoria and the expectations of both residents and non-Residents. The busy Diaspora-Night Market, Pent-Evandy-TF, and the descending Vandal City stretch were not abandoned like a devastated war zone but were vibrating as students heads to class either by foot, shuttle or a private car. Whereas continuing students saw lectures as a normal thing, the freshers were eager and excited to go for lectures for the first time in other to study, relate and to connect.
